Job summary

BlueScope Distribution in Albury, NSW, is seeking a Customer Service Officer to join the NSW Sales team. You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling enquiries, quotes and orders while coordinating with sales and warehouse colleagues to deliver on time and to specification.

You don't need steel knowledge to start; onboarding is provided with structured training on products, systems and processes, plus cross-training across teams to build your knowledge and confidence throughout

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or sales is preferred.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and confidently.
• Organised with attention to detail and able to manage several tasks.

The Opportunity

BlueScope Distributionis looking for aCustomer Service Officerto join the Customer Service team based inAlbury, NSW. BlueScope Distribution is a single-source provider of product, processing and service solutions in steel and aluminium product. The business supports customers in a variety of industries and works with them to help deliver projects on time and to specification. BlueScope Distribution supports its customers by helping them find the freedom to do what they do best.

There's plenty of variety in the role. You'll be a key point of contact for customers, helping them work through questions, orders and changing requirements. Behind the scenes, you'll work closely with our sales and warehouse teams to coordinate quotes, product details and deliveries.

You don't need to know steel to do well here. Your experience might come from sales, medical reception or patient services, a trade counter, retail, automotive or another busy customer-facing workplace. You might already spend your day managing enquiries, keeping track of orders or appointments, solving problems, coordinating with different teams and making sure nothing gets missed. The industry may be different, but much of the way you already work will be familiar here.

You’ll have time and support to build your knowledge in the role. Your first three months will include structured onboarding, with time to learn our products, systems and processes and plenty of cross-training within the team. You'll build your knowledge as you go, with support from people across the business as you get to know our customers and how we work.

What Will You Do?

Some days you'll be preparing quotes and processing orders. Others you'll be tracking down an answer, working through a change or coordinating with different teams to get something sorted for a customer.

As part of our NSW Sales team, you will:

• manage customer enquiries by phone and email
• prepare quotes and provide product and pricing information
• process and follow up orders, quotes and customer requests
• work with our sales, warehouse and other teams to coordinate customer requirements
• keep customers updated and make sure important details are followed through
• build strong relationships with customers and identify new sales opportunities

You might already have customer service or sales experience, or your skills might have been built somewhere completely different. You'll enjoy working with people, be organised in the way you work and take pride in seeing things through. You'll bring:
