With a team of 225 staff and an annual turnover of approximately $150m, our Building and Construction team offers comprehensive commercial construction and building services. Our in-house trades include roofing, cladding, carpentry, plumbing and electrical. As part of a national business, the Building and Construction group permanently operate from offices in Adelaide, Perth, Port Pirie, Woomera Whyalla and Port Lincoln.

About the Role

In this role, you'll be instrumental in driving growth and cultivating strategic partnerships for our Building and Construction team. You'll manage our existing customer base, develop a robust project pipeline, and actively expand our client relationships. The ideal candidate is a commercially aware, self-starting team player who thrives on direct stakeholder engagement and is committed to exceeding both customer and company needs.

The role reports directly to the Executive General Manager and forms a key part of the Senior Leadership Team.

What You Will Do
  • Lead customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and successful project delivery from start to finish. This includes site inspections, customer meetings, and project handover events.
  • Manage an extensive business development program, including the planning and coordination of corporate events and suites.
  • Implement and maintain effective customer service strategies, providing expert advice and solutions, and guiding the team on tender strategies and "win themes."
  • Manage and grow our customer list, including key stakeholders, and develop strategic engagement plans.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities and market developments to identify and act on potential risks and opportunities.
  • Represent the business at trade events and functions to expand our network and brand presence.
  • Work closely with the Bid and Marketing Managers to prepare customer presentations and inform social media engagement.
  • Report monthly on strategic progress to the Executive General Manager.
What You Will Bring
  • Experience in sales or business development within the commercial construction industry. The ideal candidate will have strong connections with Architects, Design Consultants and Product suppliers.
  • Understanding of commercial construction process, building trades and commercial frameworks.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and customer service skills. Public speaking skills highly regarded for this role.
