You will lead innovative programs, build staff capability, and ensure every learner receives support, challenge and opportunities to flourish. The role partners with senior leaders to shape policies and STEM enrichment paths within a faith-based education.

Qualifications

• Current Queensland College of Teachers registration.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education or related discipline.
• Experience leading exceptional learner, learning support, gifted education, intervention or inclusion programs.
• Expertise in using student data to drive educational outcomes.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Build staff capability to identify and respond to exceptional learners.

St Peters Lutheran College is one of Queensland's leading co-educational schools, renowned for excellence in Christian education. We are seeking an experienced and visionary educational leader to join our Springfield Leadership Team, as Curriculum Leader Exceptional Learners.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a whole-school approach to supporting and extending exceptional learners across Prep to Year 12. Working closely with the Director of Learning & Innovation and senior leaders, you will drive innovative programs, build staff capability, and ensure every learner receives the support, challenge and opportunities they need to flourish.

About the Role

The Curriculum Leader Exceptional Learners provides strategic leadership across three key areas:

People

• Build the capability, confidence and expertise of staff in identifying and responding to exceptional learners.
• Mentor and support teachers and specialist staff to deliver high-quality intervention, extension and enrichment programs.
• Promote inclusive practices and foster a culture where every learner is known, valued and supported.

Systems

• Develop and oversee College-wide policies, processes and frameworks for exceptional learner programs.
• Manage funding applications, budgets, compliance requirements and student records.
• Coordinate staffing, resource allocation and program delivery across the College.

Using Data to Improve Outcomes

• Lead evidence-based processes to identify, monitor and support exceptional learners.
• Perform analyses of student achievement, wellbeing and engagement data to inform interventions and enrichment opportunities.
• Design and oversee innovative programs that support both students requiring additional learning support and academically gifted learners, including strong STEM enrichment pathways.

About You

You are an accomplished educational leader with a passion for inclusive education and student growth. You bring:

• Current Queensland College of Teachers registration
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a Curriculum Leader role leading exceptional learner, learning support, gifted education, intervention or inclusion programs.
• Expertise in using student data to drive meaningful educational outcomes.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and build the capability of others.
• Sound knowledge of legislation, compliance requirements and funding processes relating to students with additional needs.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to support the Christian Ethos and Values of the College
