Job summary

Lane Cove Council is seeking a dedicated professional to coordinate the direction and delivery of arts, cultural and community events that promote the locality's rich culture. The role involves collaboration across teams, budget oversight, and ensuring events run smoothly with public engagement.

The successful candidate will have relevant degree or experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage outdoor events and performances, including after-hours commitments as needed.

Qualifications

• Current paid worker Working with Children Check clearance (NSW).
• Ability to attend out-of-hours events as required.
• Degree in Arts or Communications or relevant experience in cultural development/events management.
• Significant understanding of delivering community cultural development programs and public events.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the direction and delivery of Council's cultural programs and events.
• Provide creative direction for marketing events and cultural projects.
• Manage outdoor events and live performances with attention to safety and quality.

About the Candidate

To be successful in this role you will bring:

• A current 'Paid Worker - Working with Children Check' Clearance (NSW).
• An ability to attend out of-hours-events as required.
• Degree in Arts or Communications or relevant experience in cultural development/events management.
• Significant understanding of the processes involved in delivering and implementing community cultural development programs including public events, place-making initiatives, cultural programs and public art.
• Proven experience in providing creative direction for marketing events and cultural projects.
• Significant experience in managing outdoor events and live performances.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Highly-developed organisational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure
