Job summary

Armidale Private Hospital is seeking a CSSD Technician to join the Sterilisation Team on a permanent, part-time basis. Responsibilities include decontamination, processing, assembly, inspection, wrapping and sterilisation of reusable medical devices for various clinical departments.

You will work within a supportive team to meet perioperative needs, delivering high standards of service with a focus on patient care. Training is provided, and AS 5369:2023 knowledge is desirable.

Qualifications

• Prior CSSD experience is desirable, but training will be provided.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Customer service oriented in internal/external settings.

Job description

We are seeking CSSD Technician to join our Sterilisation Team at Armidale Private Hospital. You will be employed on a permanent, part-time basis.

About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for reprocessing of reusable medical devices, including decontamination, processing, assembly, inspection, wrapping and sterilisation of reusable medical devices and medical equipment for varying clinical departments. This role is a critical part of the sterilising process which will see you working within your team to meet the needs of the peri-op team. You will work within an efficient and supportive professional team to assist the perioperative team to deliver the best care for our patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Working within a team to process instruments, trays, and equipment in a timely manner.
• You will be within various allocated areas in the department.
• You will ensure consistency and continuous workflow between the various Operating Theatre areas and CSSD whilst practising exceptional customer service and maintaining the high operational standards of the sterilisation department.

Skills and Experience

• Previous CSSD experience is desirable, however training and support will be provided for those completing their qualification.
• Your positive outlook will enable you to collaborate effectively with our team and independently as required.
• You will be customer service oriented in both internal and external settings.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
• Exceptional organisational skills.
• Strong knowledge of the principles behind AS 5369:2023(desirable).
• Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or currently enrolled and working towards completion(desirable).
