Job summary

Flinders Private Hospital is seeking a CSSD Supervisor to lead the CSSD department, ensuring optimal sterile services, risk management, and collaboration with theatre teams. The role emphasizes adherence to policies, continuous quality improvement and staff wellbeing.

Applicants should have a Certificate III in Sterilisation (Cert IV in progress preferred) and 3–5 years CSSD experience, with strong leadership and knowledge of AS5369 GENCA and ACORN standards.

• Certificate III Sterilisation; working towards Cert IV
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in CSSD
• Effectively lead and manage teams; strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to make decisions and work in a team
• Advanced knowledge of AS5369 GENCA and ACORN standards
• Skills in (re-)processing instruments and endoscopes

Responsibilities

• Attend to the operational management of the CSSD department, streamlining flow
• Maintain high standards of CSSD practice
• Identify, assess and manage risks
• Collaborate with theatre nurses to achieve best practice and quality improvement
• Oversee Infection Control and WHS requirements to ensure patient safety and a safe workplace
• Ensure equipment and consumables are functional and available, allocate staff and resources as needed

About the role:

• Attend to the operational management of the CSSD department including streamline flow management.

• Maintaining high standards of practice in CSSD

• Identify, assess and implement measures to manage risks

• Adhere to ACHA and site policies and procedures, work in close relationship with theatre nurses to achieve best practice and continuous quality improvement

• Management of Infection Control and WHS issues pertaining to the unit to ensure patient safety, a safe work environment and safe practice for all staff

• Ensure equipment and consumables are functional, serviced and available according to requirements and can continuously assess, reassess, allocate staff and resources, implement changes for current and future needs of the hospital

About you:

• Certificate III Sterilisation, currently have or working towards Cert IV.

• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in CSSD

• Effective leadership and management skills appropriate to this role including interpersonal and communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.

• Ability to demonstrate decision making skills

• Advanced knowledge in the AS5369 standard GENCA and current ACORN standards

• Skills in (re-)processing instruments and endoscopes
