Job summary
BlueWave Talent is assisting Australia’s top local online business lender in Sydney to appoint a Credit Team Leader. You will run the daily credit queue, lead a team of three and still assess deals daily.
You’ll balance risk with commercial opportunity, coach analysts, and partner with Sales, Operations and Risk, using Excel to spot trends and drive improvements. A DLA in commercial lending and hands-on credit experience are required.
Qualifications
- DLA in commercial or SME lending is required.
- Hands-on credit experience with complex/high-value deals.
- Strong analytical mindset with comfort in reporting and Excel.
- Ability to say yes/no with explanation and reasoned judgment.
- Experience coaching others; formal leadership is a bonus.
- Relevant degree in Finance, Economics, or Business.
Responsibilities
- Run the daily credit queue, allocate work and keep decisions moving.
- Assess applications personally and engage brokers and Sales on calls.
- Be the go-to person on complex and larger deals.
- Balance commercial opportunity with credit policy and risk appetite.
- Use workflow and data in Excel to spot trends and fix root causes.
- Coach the team and translate policy changes into practical guidance.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations and Risk.
