Job summary

Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Villawood invites applications for a Creative Arts Teacher (0.4 FTE) to commence Term 1, 2027. This temporary part-time role requires availability on Thursdays and Fridays each week to align with Professional Planning Time.

You will teach Music, Dance, Drama and Visual Arts to K–6, supported by a collaborative Catholic learning environment. A tertiary Education qualification and NSW Education Standards Authority eligibility are required, with Religious

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Eligibility with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
• Religious Education credentials or willingness to obtain them.

About You

As a Creative Arts Teacher (0.4), you will inspire students through engaging, student-centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment. We invite collaborative and energetic educators to apply for the temporary part-time (0.4 FTE) position that will commence in Term 1, 2027. This position will be for a K-6 Creative Arts teacher.The successful applicant must be available on Thursday and Friday each week. These days are notnegotiable as they align with our Professional Planning Time. The Creative Arts syllabus includes Music, Dance, Drama and Visual Arts. Ideally, the successful applicant will be able to teach across all four areas. This position will be for the Music and Dance components.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• expertise within Creative Arts


• sound knowledge in K-6 Curriculum and the application of effective learning pedagogies


• skills in utilising formative and summative assessments to drive student progress


• a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback


• an ability to create and implement engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to diverse student needs


• a commitment to supporting the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students


• excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being


• confidence in integrating technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences (e.g. Google applications including Google Slides and Google Docs, promethean whiteboards and iPads/Chromebooks).

You will have attained:

• a tertiary qualification in Education


• eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)


• Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as perAccreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead.
