Job summary

UnitingCare in Bundaberg is seeking a compassionate Counsellor/Group Facilitator for the Parenting Orders Program. This part-time role (3 days per week) offers a maximum term contract until 30 June 2027, with remuneration of $53.43 p/h plus Super and NFP salary packaging.

Some evening work may be required. The role focuses on supporting individuals and families through separation, high conflict, and emotional stress, with a commitment to equality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science.
  • Eligible for APS, AASW or PACFA membership.
  • Current Queensland Driver's Licence.
  • Blue Card (child-related employment).
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, counselling, psychoeducation, referrals and case management to parents.
  • Co-facilitate the Business of Parenting Groupwork and support children and families.
  • Complete risk assessments and safety planning for domestic and family violence cases.

Counsellor/Group Facilitator | Parenting Orders Program

Term: Part‑time (3 days per week), Maximum Term Contract until 30 June 2027. Location: Bundaberg. Remuneration: $53.43 p/h + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Counsellor to join our Parenting Orders Program team to support individuals and families experiencing separation, high conflict and emotional stress. This position will be based in Bundaberg. Some evening work will be required. Our approach is simple –everybody is welcome here. Responsibilities
  • Providing assessment, counselling, psychoeducation, referrals, case management to parents, as well as co facilitation of the Business of Parenting Groupwork.
  • Providing support to children and families through referrals and case collaboration.
  • Completing risk assessments and safety planning with people experiencing domestic and family violence and adhering to organisational processes and procedures to manage client risk as part of the case management process and client service delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor Level Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Eligible for membership with APS; AASW or PACFA.
  • Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
  • Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card).
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal history check.
