Job summary

HammondCare in Dubbo invites a dedicated Cottage Manager to lead a team of about 15 carers at the Overnight Respite Cottage, operating 24/7 with Monday–Friday day shifts. You will recruit, mentor and supervise staff, manage budgets and quality standards, and provide compassionate leadership to clients and their carers to deliver HammondCare's model of care.

Certificate IV in Aged Care and 2 years’ experience are preferred; non-clinical applicants may be supported with internal clinical

Job description

Lead a passionate and dedicated team of Carers to deliver HammondCare's model of care with its Respite Cottage service in Dubbo.

Full-time role based at our Respite Cottage in Dubbo. You will lead and manage a team of approximately 15 carers. The cottage operates 24/7, Monday to Sunday, while your roster will be Monday to Friday day shifts.

Cottage Manager - What's involved in the role?

• Responsible for leading a passionate and dedicated team of staff to deliver HammondCare's model of care with its Overnight Respite Cottage service in Dubbo.
• The role of Respite Cottage Manager works with the Head of Clubs and Cottages to recruit, mentor and lead staff, manage budgets, ensure quality and oversee all technical aspects of care provision at the Respite Cottage.
• Responsible for the management and direct care of clients' needs, you will provide professional, capable and aligned leadership for your team in order to deliver individualised care to our clients
• You and your team will make a significant difference in improving the quality of life for those we care for and their carers.

What do you need to apply?

• Certificate IV in Aged Care & a minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience.
• Whilst clinical registration is preferred, it is not essential as we are able to support a successful non-clinical applicant with internal clinical resources
• Demonstrated ability to build supportive, professional relationships with clients within a relationship-based model of care;
• Knowledge of the Commonwealth Home Support Program Manual, Home Care Packages Program Guidelines, Home Care Common Standards and HammondAtHome Care Worker Enterprise Agreement 2012.
• Experience managing a team of skilled professionals
• A current drivers licence and willingness to travel for Manager training
• Strong administrative and computer skills
• Empathy, compassion and a genuine interest in helping those in need in our community
