Job summary

HealthWISE is seeking a Corporate Services Manager to lead the corporate services function, ensuring people, systems and operations thrive across the organisation.

Based in Tamworth, Armidale, or any HealthWISE location, the role covers HR administration, recruitment, onboarding, policy development, procurement, risk, WHS and governance with senior leadership oversight. The successful candidate will coach staff, manage budgets, and drive cost efficiencies to support health programs.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in day-to-day operational functions of a medium sized organisation.
  • Contract management and procurement processes experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently or in a flexible team, including managing remote staff.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee facility management, governance and asset management.
  • Lead policy development and review in collaboration with executives and staff.
  • Oversee procurement and contract negotiation for organisation-wide services.
  • Ensure compliance with leases, assets, HR requirements and internal audits.
  • Maintain WHS plans, safety programs and risk management processes.
  • Coordinate recruitment, HR compliance and training/development needs.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports and manage budgets.
  • Report on WHS, Risk and Quality to the Finance, Audit and Risk Sub Committee.

Corporate Services Manager

Tamworth, Armidale OR any HealthWISE location | Full-Time | 12-month contract

Lead the corporate services function at HealthWISE, ensuring our people, systems and operations thrive.

About the role

As a member of the Executive Team, the Corporate Services Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of HealthWISE through effective management of its corporate services. The position oversees the HR administration for the business, supporting staff and executive in relation to recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, disciplinary action, training and development and WHS.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of HealthWISE through the oversight of the organisation’s facility management, corporate governance and asset management
  • Lead the development and review of organisation wide policies and procedures in collaboration with executive and staff
  • Undertake and oversee procurement and contract negotiation processes for organisation wide services
  • Manage the compliance with HealthWISE contractual obligations regarding leases and organisational assets, and implement internal audit processes to ensure compliance with policies, current legislation and HR requirements
  • Keep up to date with developments and interpretation of relevant Australian workplace legislation such as the Fair Work and Work Health Safety Acts and oversee the development and review of WHS plans and safety programs.
  • Coordinate the recruitment processes for the organisation, HR compliance, contract preparation and review, and in collaboration with the executive, the training and development requirements of the organisation.
  • Provide exceptional leadership, direction and coaching to direct reports
  • Prepare annual budgets for areas of responsibility and continuously monitor budget
  • performance.
  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective management of the organisation’s vehicle fleet
  • Actively contribute to the growth and financial sustainability through identifying efficiencies, cost savings and innovative solutions
  • Develop and maintain current and new professional contacts which facilitate business efficiencies and new business opportunities
  • Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective risk management system, monitoring and actioning trends.
  • Oversee the crisis and disaster management processes for the organisation.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective quality improvement system.
  • Manage the complaints/feedback system and monitor and action trends
  • Provide WH&S, Risk and Quality reports to Finance, Audit and Risk Sub Committee and attend meetings
  • Attend Corporate Governance Sub Committee meetings
  • Travel and overnight stays as required to perform duties.

About you

  • A relevant qualification in business or a related discipline and/or relevant experience in the day-to-day operational functions of a medium sized organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in contract management and procurement processes
  • Demonstrated high-level organisational skills, time management and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to meet timeframes and manage priorities in order to meet organisational requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their health
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic and flexible team, including the ability to effectively work and manage staff remotely with accountability
  • Understanding of Primary Health Care sector
