Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a Processing Coordinator to lead the operation of our gold processing facilities in Western Australia. You will coordinate daily plant operations, mentor process teams, and ensure safety, quality, cost and environmental standards are met.

This permanent role operates on an 8 days on/6 days off roster with FIFO from Perth. You will drive production targets, optimise plant availability and engage across operations, maintenance and metallurgical teams.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating processing operations in a mineral processing plant, ideally gold.
• Strong knowledge of safety systems, PTW, isolation procedures and risk management.
• Leadership coaching and development capabilities to uplift team performance.
• Experience implementing ICMI Cyanide Code in processing operations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily processing plant operations and crews to safe, efficient production.
• Provide visible safety leadership and ensure PTW and isolation procedures compliance.
• Drive budgeted production, tonnes treated, gold produced and plant recovery.
• Lead and develop operations staff through performance management processes.
• Maintain coordination between operations, maintenance and metallurgical teams to minimise downtime.
• Identify CI opportunities to improve safety, stability, productivity and cost efficiency.

Job description

Reporting to the Superintendent Processing Production, you will be responsible for the coordination of the operation of the gold processing facilities and equipment. Manage, develop, and mentor the process teams to achieve budgeted production, meeting all quality standards including safety, cost and environment.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in a similar Processing Coordinator role, with extensive knowledge of mineral processing plant operations, preferably within a gold processing environment.
• Statutory Supervisor Certificate (Section 26).
• Strong understanding of safety systems and processes, including Permit to Work (PTW), isolation procedures and critical risk management.
• Experience with the International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) Cyanide Code and its implementation within processing operations will be highly regarded.
• Proven leadership capability, with experience coaching, mentoring and developing personnel to improve individual performance, team capability and engagement.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and operational coordination skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across processing, maintenance and technical teams.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement, production optimisation, environmental compliance and operational excellence.
• WA manual driver's licence.

About the Role:

• Coordinate daily processing plant operations and crews to achieve safe, efficient and reliable production outcomes.
• Provide visible safety leadership, ensuring compliance with site procedures, risk management systems, critical controls, Permit to Work (PTW) requirements and isolation systems.
• Drive the consistent achievement of budgeted production performance, including tonnes treated, gold produced and plant recovery, while optimising plant availability and operational efficiency.
• Lead, coach and develop operations personnel, providing ongoing leadership and mentoring to direct reports through the Performance Management Process. Provide regular, constructive feedback to support individual development, build capability and enhance employee engagement, productivity and job satisfaction.
• Maintain effective communication and coordination between operations, maintenance, metallurgy and other site teams to minimise downtime and optimise plant performance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental standards, site environmental management plans and the International Cyanide Management Code.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to improve safety, plant stability, productivity and cost efficiency.
