Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is seeking a Library Coordinator to lead Byford library operations, deliver programs and drive community engagement. Located at our family-friendly Byford library, this full-time permanent role offers hybrid work and strong benefits.

You will manage learning programs, partner with community groups, and support day-to-day library administration. The ideal candidate has tertiary librarianship qualifications, excellent communication, and a collaborative leadership

• Tertiary qualifications in librarianship.
• Experience delivering and promoting community-focused library services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to motivate, lead and support teams.
• Knowledge of automated library management systems is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and coach individuals and teams to deliver great services and programs that create a positive customer and visitor experience.
• Deliver friendly, community-focused library and information services and programs.
• Build strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
• Support the day-to-day administration and operations of the Branch Library.
• Help deliver the goals of the Shire's Library Services in line with approved plans, policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Contribute to the Shire's future planning, especially around the needs of our local community.

Join our team as a Library Coordinator Extraordinaire. Are you a librarian with a passion for progress? Elevate your career to new heights with us! Lead the way in library operations, curating knowledge, organising events, and inspiring the community.

In this role you will be responsible for the development and delivery of library learning programs to our community, as well as facilitating relevant literacy and learning opportunities for people of all ages within the community. Some of your key duties will include.

In this role you will have the following accountabilities:

• Support the day-to-day administration and operations of the Branch Library

Our preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skillset:

• Tertiary qualifications in librarianship
• Strong experience delivering and promoting community-focused library services and programs, with the confidence to support positive change in modern library services.
• Great people skills, with clear and confident communication both in person and in writing.
• A practical approach to problem-solving, along with the ability to motivate, lead and support teams to perform at their best and enjoy their work.
• A good understanding of automated library management systems, along with knowledge of local government policies and procedures, would be a bonus.

We will negotiate a great salary with you up to $102,650 depending on the experience you bring to the role.
