Job summary

Victoria Daly Regional Council is seeking a Library Officer to provide friendly, customer-focused service and support community information access. You will help visitors with loans, inquiries, and digital resources, while delivering programs that promote literacy and inclusion.

What your day will look like, but are not limited to:

As our Library Officer, no two days are the same. You'll be at the heart of the community, helping people access information, services, and opportunities while creating a welcoming and inclusive library environment.

On any given day, you will:

  • Welcome and assist library visitors with loans, returns, enquiries, and general library services.
  • Help community members access information, digital resources, and online services.
  • Support customers using Services Australia (Centrelink) self-service and online government platforms.
  • Deliver and support community programs that encourage literacy, learning, and social connection.
  • Maintain library collections, equipment, and resources to ensure the facility remains organised and accessible.
  • Record usage statistics, maintain accurate records, and assist with operational reporting requirements.

You will bring

An understanding of library services, community engagement, or digital service delivery practices.

Other Requirements
  • Criminal History Check (recent, within 3 months).
  • A current Working with Children's Card (Ochre Card).
