Job summary

Cafe 389 Woody Point, located at Woody Point in Queensland, is seeking an experienced Cook for a full-time permanent position. The role offers a competitive salary and the chance to work in a waterfront café known for quality food and service.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Commercial Cookery is required.
• At least 1 year's experience in a fast-paced café, restaurant or commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, equipment operation and kitchen hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of high-quality café dishes in accordance with established recipes.
• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other commercial cooking equipment.
• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding sauces and garnishes to meet our strict presentation standards.
• Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities and monitoring stock levels.
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements and accommodating specific customer requests.
• Maintaining HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards, keeping kitchen work areas and equipment clean and organised.
• Working collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient service during busy periods.

Known for our quality food, vibrant atmosphere and exceptional service, we are currently seeking an experienced Cook to join our passionate kitchen team.
