GYG in Melbourne is seeking a friendly Cook to join our fast-paced kitchen. You’ll prepare fresh Mexican-inspired dishes, weigh ingredients, and support core kitchen operations with a positive, can-do attitude.

Experience helps but isn’t essential; coaching and development are available. We offer a free uniform, culinary training, discounted meals, and celebrate Mexican culture through team events such as Day of the Dead and Cinco de Mayo.

Job Description

The Cook is at the heart of the restaurant operations. You will be preparing fresh and delicious food, problem solving and weighing-in with expertise on vibrant Mexican flavours. You’ll have the opportunity to utilise fresh ingredients to produce high standard products for our new and regular guests.

Experience is helpful, but it’s not everything. What we mean is:

• Kitchen experience is great but not essential
• Is open to coaching, eager to learn and ready to put in the effort
• ‘Can do’ attitude and can be relied upon
