Job summary

G8 Education’s Great Beginnings Gregory Hills centre in NSW is seeking a qualified Cook to produce high quality, nutritious meals for up to 100 children daily. This full-time role focuses on menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering and ensuring food safety across all meals.

You will join a supportive team, maintain a clean kitchen, meet regulatory requirements and work set Monday to Friday shifts, contributing to children’s wellbeing and learning through food.

Qualifications

• Experience in menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control.
• Experience with dietary and allergy safe requirements.
• Experience ensuring a clean and safe kitchen per Food Safety regulations.
• Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills.
• Available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 100 children daily.
• Plan menus and manage budgets and stock to meet needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen in line with Food Safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team to deliver learning experiences through food.
• Work with set shifts Monday to Friday.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Great Beginnings Gregory Hills to produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 100 children each day.

This role is Full-Time working 38 hours per week.

About Us

Our children enjoy delightful indoor and outdoor play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources, and a range of activities.

At capacity our centre caters for up to 100 children with operating hours from 7:00am to 6:00pm.

About You

• Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
• Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements.
• Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
• Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
• Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday

Successful Applicants must hold

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
• A current Working with Children’s Check
• Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
