Job summary

Great Beginnings Gregory Hills is hiring a Cook to join our team and prepare high quality, nutritious meals for up to 100 children daily. This full-time permanent role offers a stable 38-hour week with a focus on safety, dietary requirements and collaborative teamwork.

You’ll manage menu planning, budgeting, stock control and ensure a clean kitchen in accordance with Food Safety regulations, while supporting children’s learning through healthy meals.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and cook experience.
• Current Working with Children’s Check.
• Food Safety Supervisor certification completed or willing to complete.

Responsibilities

• Involve in planning nutritious meals and snacks for up to 100 children daily.
• Ensure a clean, safe kitchen environment in line with Food Safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team to meet menus, dietary requirements and budget targets.
• Set shift days and times Monday to Friday.

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Great Beginnings Gregory Hills to produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 100 children each day.

This role is Full-Time Permanent working 38 hours per week.

About Us

Our children enjoy delightful indoor and outdoor play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources, and a range of activities.

At capacity our centre caters for up to 100 children with operating hours from 7:00am to 6:00pm.

About You

• Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
• Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements.
• Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
• Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
• Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday

Successful Applicants must hold

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
• A current Working with Children’s Check
• Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
