Job summary

G8 Education Ltd seeks a qualified Cook to prepare nutritious meals for up to 108 children at Nurture One Hill Street Centre. The role covers menu planning, budgeting, stock control, and ensuring dietary safety in a childcare kitchen.

We offer a full-time schedule (38 hours/week) from early morning to early evening, with a supportive team and opportunities for career growth within G8’s network of centres.

Qualifications

• Experience in menu planning and budgeting for a childcare kitchen.
• Knowledge of dietary/allergy safe requirements.
• Ability to maintain a clean, safe kitchen per food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 108 children daily.
• Plan menus, manage budget and stock ordering & control.
• Ensure dietary requirements are met and food safety standards are followed.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Nurture One Hill Street Centre to produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 108 children each day.

This role is Full-Time working 38 hours per week.

About Us

Our children enjoy delightful indoor and outdoor play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources, and a range of activities.

At capacity our centre caters for up to 108 children with operating hours from 6.30am - 6.30pm.

Our menus meet nutritional guidelines and are high-quality, allowing young bodies to thrive both mentally and physically. As part of the Team, you will feel appreciated, valued and enjoy a truly supportive and fun work environment.

About You

• Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
• Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements.
• Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
• Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
• Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday

Successful Applicants must hold

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
• A current Working with Children’s Check / Blue Card / DCSI Clearance and First Aid
• Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
