Job summary

Goodstart Andergrove is seeking a Centre Cook to join our team. You'll prepare delicious, healthy meals for children, accommodating dietary requirements, while contributing to a calm, welcoming environment.

This part-time role (12.5 hours) offers competitive pay ($31.39–$35.44 per hour) above award, plus benefits such as childcare fee discounts and wellbeing days. You’ll work with the Centre Director to plan menus and ensure food safety.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking within a childcare setting.
• Current QLD Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals with dietary requirements and allergies in mind.
• Plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director.
• Maintain high standards of food safety across storage, handling and preparation.

As a Cook at Goodstart, you'll create delicious, healthy meals that fuel young minds and bodies, becoming a cherished part of our community. Your passion for food and commitment to quality will play a crucial role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in our care.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director

Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
