Job summary

Goodstart Springvale South is seeking a Part-time Centre Cook to prepare healthy meals for up to 83 children, on a 25-hour-per-week roster in a welcoming childcare setting.

You will plan menus with the Centre Director, handle food orders and budgets, and maintain high standards of food safety while accommodating dietary requirements.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience in a childcare kitchen.
• Current VIC Working with Children Check required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare healthy meals and snacks for children with attention to dietary needs.
• Plan menus in consultation with the Centre Director and manage food orders.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen and ensure food safety standards are met.
• Work a part-time roster of 25 hours per week.

Employment Type: Part-time (25 hours a week), Permanent

Pay: $31.36 - $35.44 p/h (depending on experience) + Super

As a Cook at Goodstart, you'll create delicious, healthy meals that fuel young minds and bodies, becoming a cherished part of our community. Your passion for food and commitment to quality will play a crucial role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in our care.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
• Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
• Work a part time roster of 25 hours per week
