Job summary

Collarcare Aged Care is seeking Cooks and Chefs to support aged care facilities across Mackay and Central Queensland. Join a team that values wellbeing and work-life balance, with flexible shifts and supportive leadership.

You will cook nutritious meals for residents, follow menus and dietary requirements, maintain high food safety standards, and collaborate with facility staff. A valid Food Safety Supervisor certificate, police check, and work rights are required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Cook or Chef, preferably in aged care or healthcare.
• Experience preparing meals for large groups.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, where required.
• Valid Police Check
• 100 Points of ID
• Valid Work Rights
• NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious and high-quality meals for residents.
• Follow menus, recipes and dietary requirements.
• Prepare meals that cater to special dietary needs, allergies and texture-modified diets.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Follow infection control and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Manage food preparation areas and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with stock rotation and monitoring food supplies.
• Minimise food waste and maintain appropriate portion sizes.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and facility staff.
• Create a positive dining experience for residents.
