Job summary

Nosey Neighbour Café in Whittlesea, Victoria, is seeking an experienced Chef / Cook to join from day one and help create a welcoming local meeting place with great food and coffee. You’ll work with a tight-knit team to deliver outstanding dishes and guest experiences.

About The Role

As a Chef / Cook at Nosey Neighbour Café, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality food and helping create an exceptional experience for our guests.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking menu items to a consistently high standard

• Maintaining food quality and presentation during busy service periods

• Following food safety and hygiene standards

• Managing prep and stock rotation

• Assisting with ordering and inventory control

• Operating and maintaining bain-marie service and hot-holding equipment where required

• Working collaboratively with the front-of-house team

• Contributing ideas and helping us continue to improve

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

• Able to communicate effectively with both BOH and FOH teams

• Holds a current driver's licence and has their own reliable vehicle

Experience & Qualifications

Preferred experience includes:

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a café, restaurant or hospitality venue

• Minimum of 2+ years cooking experience is required for this role

• Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements

• Experience working in fast-paced service environments

• Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively

• Experience operating bain-marie service and maintaining food quality in a hot-holding environment (highly regarded)

Relevant food safety qualifications are highly regarded.

Food safety qualifications must be obtained within 30 days of commencement if not already held.

• Australian citizenship is required for this position
