Job summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: COOK (3)

Passion and commitment are the driving forces behind our new Indian restaurant specialising in hosting private functions, catering services, weddings, and corporate events. We now have 3 Cook position available in our main kitchen.

Job Type: Permanent and full-time basis

Report To: Director/ Owner

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Excellent knowledge of food hygiene procedures and Excellent communication and organisation skills
• Prepare a range of high-quality meals for our customers
• Help design new menu items
• Help estimate stock requirements
• Streamline processes between our wait staff and kitchen staff
• Clean food preparation areas and maintain hygiene standards
• Set up staff workstations with the necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare cooking ingredients (measure ingredients, chop and peel vegetables and cut meat)
• Prepare food using our approved recipes
• Maintain customer expectations and accommodate guests with allergies
• Monitor ingredient quality for freshness
• Monitor stock levels and place orders
• Liaise with front-of-house staff to ensure they serve hot food
• Operate kitchen appliances and cooking apparatus
• Portion and present food according to our expectations.
• Supervise kitchen hands.

Mandatory Qualification Required:

• Possession of Bachelors degree from any discipline
• Certificate IV in commercial cookery or relevant qualification related to Commercial Cookery

Relevant Experience Required:

• Minimum 1 Years’ experience
