Ozcare Port Douglas Aged Care Facility is hiring a Cook / Client Services Assistant in a part-time capacity for our Malanda Aged Care Facility. The role combines cooking in the kitchen with supporting client services in a warm, caring environment.

Responsibilities

• Cook daily meals and snacks and assist with client services.
• Prepare ingredients and operate kitchen equipment for meal service.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen and dining area.
• Assist with menu planning, stock control, and food orders.
• Uphold food safety procedures and complete required documentation.

Ozcare has a permanent part-time position available for a Cook / Client Services Assistant supporting our clients at our beautiful Malanda Aged Care Facility.This is a dual position and will involve recurrent shifts as a Cook, involving cooking in our kitchen when you are not required as Kitchen Hand.

Your Role

Your RoleAs a Client Services Assistant - you'll be looking after the most important people in our organisation - our clients. Your tasks will include: Cooking & Client Services DutiesPrepare and cook daily meals and snacks, including ingredient preparation, operating kitchen equipment, serving food, delivering meals to clients, and collecting used dishes.Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen and dining environment by washing dishes, restocking supplies, cleaning surfaces and floors, managing rubbish, and handling food trolleys.Support overall kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, organising menus, managing food and equipment orders, and ensuring stock levels are maintained.Uphold food safety standards by recording temperatures, completing required documentation, and following safe food handling procedures.

Role Requirements

• Be vaccinated against Influenza & at least 1 dose of Covid-19 vaccine
• Current Police Screening Certificate (valid within the last 3 years)
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (where applicable)
• Demonstrated previous cooking experience for large groups would be an advantage
• Demonstrated experience working in a kitchen environment is desirable
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
