Job summary

Calvary Health Care in Brighton-Le-Sands, NSW is seeking a casual Cook to prepare and cook nutritionally balanced meals for residents. You will work with the kitchen team to meet dietary needs while upholding food safety standards.

Your duties include assisting the head chef, planning menus, ensuring timely service, and maintaining a clean kitchen with proper hygiene practices. Experience in bulk cooking and budget-conscious menu planning is preferred.

Qualifications

• TAFE Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or Certificate Level III in Food Studies.
• Experience in bulk cooking and food preparation.
• Ability to plan menus to meet standards (Food Act and OH&S).
• Ability to order food to meet requirements of menu cycle and keep within budget.
• Understanding of infection control and safety principles.
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, etc).
• Completion of HLTFSE001 or willingness to obtain.

About The Role

We are looking for a casual Cook to join our team in Brighton Le Sands, NSW. Working with Calvary Aged Care, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals for our residents. You will work closely with our kitchen team to ensure that our residents receive meals that meet their dietary needs and preferences, while also adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.

Your main duties will include:

• Assist the head chef to plan, prepare, and cook meals for residents, taking into consideration their dietary requirements and preferences.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to create menus that are both nutritious and appealing.
• Ensure all meals are prepared and served in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following food safety and hygiene protocols.

About You

• Completion of (HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Safety Practices) or willingness to obtain
