Job summary

Carinity - Karinya Place in Laidley is seeking a permanent part-time Cook/Kitchen Assistant to support the preparation of fresh meals for residents. The role covers 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM on weekdays and 9:30 AM to 5:36 PM on two shifts every fortnight, with a total of 65 hours per fortnight.

You will assist in delivering high-quality meals that meet dietary needs and personal preferences, support meal service, and ensure strict kitchen hygiene and safety standards within a caring aged-care setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial food preparation.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• Knowledge of Food Safety and Workplace Health and Safety standards relevant to Aged Care.
• A compassionate, resident-focused approach.
• Previous experience in Aged Care is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef and other staff in the preparation of high-quality, fresh meals that meet residents’ dietary requirements and personal preferences.
• Provide assistance to Support Services staff in meal service to residents.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.

About The Opportunity

At Karinya Place, you’ll enjoy a peaceful Laidley location surrounded by open country views, a warm and calming setting that nurtures comfort, connection, and care. In this position you will be assisting in the provision of high-quality fresh meals to the residents of the facility, in support of maintaining their quality of life.

This role requires availability Monday to Sunday between 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM for 8 shifts and 9:30 AM to 5:36 PM for 2 shifts each fortnight.

Your Day-to-day Will Involve
