Job summary

Great Beginnings Kangaroo Flat, part of G8 Education Ltd, seeks an experienced Cook to deliver nutritious meals for up to 98 children daily. You’ll plan menus, order stock, manage budgets, and ensure allergy-safe meals while keeping the kitchen clean and compliant with safety regs.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification.
• Working with Children’s Check / Blue Card / DCSI Clearance and First Aid.
• Food Safety Supervisor certification completed or willing to complete.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 98 children daily.
• Plan menus, manage budgets, and control stock and ordering.
• Ensure dietary and allergy safe requirements and maintain a clean kitchen.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Great Beginnings Kangaroo Flat to produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 98 children each day.

About Us

Our children enjoy delightful indoor and outdoor play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources, and a range of activities.

About You

• Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
• Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements.
• Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
• Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
• Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday

Successful Applicants must hold

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
• A current Working with Children’s Check / Blue Card / DCSI Clearance and First Aid
• Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
