Job summary

G8 Education Ltd is hiring a part-time Cook at Great Beginnings Hornsby to prepare nutritious meals for up to 90 children. The role runs 32 hours per week on a 10-month contract with potential extension, in a centre focused on safe food handling and dietary compliance.

Successful applicants will have a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or ACECQA Early Childhood qualification) and a Working with Children Check, with opportunities to grow within G8’s network of centres.

Qualifications

• Experience in menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering and control.
• Experience in dietary and allergy safe requirements.
• Experience in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen in line with Food Safety regulations.
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Availability for set shift days Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 90 children daily.
• Ensure dietary requirements and allergies are accommodated.
• Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Great Beginnings Hornsby to produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 90children each day.

This role is Part-Time working 32 hours per week, on a contract for 10 months, with the possibility to extend.

About Us

Our children enjoy delightful indoor and outdoor play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources, and a range of activities.

At capacity our centre caters for up to 90children with operating hours from 7:00am-6:00pm.

About You

• Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
• Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements.
• Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
• Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
• Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday

Successful Applicants must hold

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
• A current Working with Children’s Check / Blue Card / DCSI Clearance and First Aid
• Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
