Job summary

Calvary The Brelsford - Coffs Harbour is seeking a Cook to support the kitchen team and coordinate high-quality meals for residents. You’ll work with the Chef to ensure food safety, audits and great-tasting meals.

Candidates should have a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, with experience in health or residential care. The role is casual and on site in Coffs Harbour.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role in residential care or health care sectors.
  • Working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, stock management, IDDSI, staff supervision and allergen management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee daily meals for residents meeting dietary requirements (texture modified, allergen aware).
  • Ensure meals are fresh, well presented, appetising and aromatic.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety standards and codes.
  • Liaise with residents and families to ensure high satisfaction with food services.

About The Role

As a Cook you will help our kitchen team and coordinate the delivery of high-quality food services for our residents. Working with the Chef you will be responsible for food safety and auditing and of course cooking!

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of daily meals for residents that meet their special dietary requirements eg; texture modified, allergen compliant, culturally relevant.
  • Ensures all meals prepared and served are fresh, well presented, appetising and aromatic.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant food safety standards and codes.
  • Liaise with residents and families to ensure high levels of satisfaction with food services within the Home.
What You Bring
  • Experience in a similar role in the residential care or health care sectors.
  • Working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, managing stock levels, IDDSI, staff supervision and allergen management.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (minimum)
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Health Care Competencies)
