Calvary The Brelsford - Coffs Harbour is seeking a casual Support Worker Catering to assist in delivering nutritious meals for residents and supporting dietary, cultural and religious preferences.

You will work under the Chef/Cook, prepare meals and beverages, maintain clean and safe dining areas, and follow National Food Safety Program guidelines.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal.

• Demonstrated experience in food preparation and food safety desirable.
• Food Handling Certificate Desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook.
• Prepare daily meals and beverages meeting residents' dietary needs, including allergies and cultural requirements as directed by the Chef.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure a safe living environment for residents.
• Work in line with the National Food Safety Program, including food safety records and cross-contamination prevention.

About the role

The Support Worker - Catering will ensure a supportive environment where residents are encouraged to express their food preferences and choice, whilst ensuring that food is nutritious and prepared in alignment with appropriate standards. Catering support workers will do all that they can to support cultural, religious and dietary preferences in preparation and food service to ensure that resident satisfaction is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook
• Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident including special dietary requirements, allergies and culturally specific as instructed by the Chef or Cook
• Ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained, and the residents living environment is safe and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness
• Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the National Food Safety Program at all times including completing food safety records and the prevention of cross contamination
