Job summary

Aegis Aged Care Shawford Lodge in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Cook to join the Hospitality & Tourism Chefs/Cooks team. You will organise kitchen staff, prepare meals for residents according to dietary plans and menus, and manage stores and food storage while ensuring proper food handling.

Ideally you hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and have experience cooking for large numbers. Knowledge of food safety, Australian working rights, and the ability to work varied shifts

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Experience in food preparation and cooking for large numbers of people.
• Aged Care experience (highly regarded).
• A high level of food safety knowledge.
• Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.

Responsibilities

• Managing receipt of stores, and food storage according to the relevant regulations.

About the Role

A working day will involve:

• Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and serving of meals.

About You

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

• Enjoys working with the elderly.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Is able to supervise, organise and guide staff, to deliver high quality catering outcomes.
• Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
• Can communicate effectively both verbally and written.

You should possess the following:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
• Aged Care experience (highly regarded).
• A high level of food safety knowledge.
• Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
