Job summary

MGR Solicitors in Wangaratta, Victoria, invites an experienced Conveyancer to lead the firm’s conveyancing function from start to settlement. You will work closely with Principals and the Office Manager, taking ownership with autonomy and supportive handover.

Minimum three years as a Senior Conveyancer is required, with proven ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records using LEAP, PEXA and other platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage conveyancing files from start to finish, including preparation, correspondence and settlement.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of the firm’s conveyancing matters.
  • Prepare and process contracts and settlements, and manage settlement deadlines.
  • Provide professional and timely advice to clients throughout the conveyancing process.
  • Maintain accurate data across LEAP, PEXA and SRO Duties Online.

An exciting opportunity exists to join the MGR Team as an experienced Conveyancer, managing conveyancing matters from commencement through to settlement, workingly closely with the MGR’s Principals, Office Manager and wider team.

We are seeking an experienced Conveyancer, with a minimum of three years' experience working at a senior Conveyancer level, who is confident managing matters independently and taking ownership of the firm's conveyancing function.

While the role provides a high level of autonomy, you will be provided a thorough handover, training and support to ensure a smooth transition into the role. Ongoing support will also be available during periods of increased workload and when additional guidance is required.

Duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Managing conveyancing files from start to finish including preparation, correspondence and settlement
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the firm's conveyancing matters
  • Preparing and processing legal documents, contracts and settlements
  • Managing settlement processes and ensure all relevant requirements and deadlines are met
  • Providing professional and timely advice and communication to clients throughout the conveyancing process
  • Handling correspondence, phone enquiries and appointment bookings
  • Entering and maintaining accurate data and information across legal platforms including LEAP, PEXA, SRO Duties Online
  • Maintaining accurate and organised files and records
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhere to firm policies and procedures
  • Assisting with invoicing, payments and general administrative support
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of conveyancing processes and procedures
  • Working collaboratively with the wider MGR Team and provide support to other areas of the practice as required
Essential skills and attributes:
  • A minimum of three years' experience working as a Senior Conveyancer
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing conveyancing files from commencement through to settlement
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of conveyancing processes and requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional, client-focused approach and ability to build strong relationships
  • The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the firm's conveyancing function
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience using LEAP, PEXA and SRO Duties Online
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the wider team
