Job summary

BHP is seeking a driven Control Systems leader based in Newman, WA, overseeing operations across WAIO Newman and Jimblebar. You will manage safety, reliability, and production improvements through the Eastern Pilbara Control Systems Operations team.

This site-based role operates on a 5/2, 4/3 FIFO roster and requires strong engineering process knowledge and cybersecurity mindset. You will lead a team, influence change and drive ongoing optimization in a challenging industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading operational/engineering/tech teams in a complex industrial environment.
• Strong ability to implement change and influence customers’ needs.
• Collaborative, solution-focused and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Eastern Pilbara Control Systems Operations team to deliver safety, availability, reliability, and production improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase reliability, throughput and reduce downtime risks.
• Investigate root causes of downtime in control systems and implement preventive solutions.
• Own governance, service continuity and cybersecurity initiatives within scope.
• Act as service owner for Eastern Pilbara control systems and manage vendor relationships.
