Job summary

BHP is seeking a motivated Control Systems Engineer to join the WAIO Control Systems Team in Perth. You will provide 24 x 7 first response support for breakdowns on Fixed Plant assets and implement improvements to improve safety and efficiency, aligning with the business plan.

Reporting to the Lead Control Systems Engineer, you will coach the Control Room Operators, monitor performance, and drive opportunities to reduce risk, cost and downtime across WAIO mines, with a lifestyle roster and

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical, Mechatronic or Control Systems Engineering.
Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley) and SCADA systems such as Citect.
Experience in large-scale bulk handling operations preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
Provide first response investigation and resolution of control systems breakdowns to the operation to ensure business continuity and minimise downtime.
Provide Control Room Operator (CRO) coaching to improve control systems understanding and asset operation, as well as quantify improvement opportunities.
Proactively monitor Supply Chain performance and raise improvement opportunities.
Implement minor control systems improvement projects to reduce risk, reduce cost and increase productivity.
