Job summary

IKG Talent is seeking a hands-on Control Systems Lead to oversee development, optimisation and lifecycle management of building management and automation systems across secure facilities in Australia and New Zealand.

You will lead architecture, standardisation and project design reviews, collaborating with engineering, operations and ICT to deliver scalable, reliable and secure control platforms. A strong focus on governance and cybersecurity is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in data centres or critical infrastructure.
• Experience with BMS, PLCs, SCADA, EMS.
• Trade qualification or tertiary degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Ability to operate in high-security environments with strict governance.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and documentation of control systems (BMS/EMS/PLC/SCADA).
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and IT for scalable, secure platforms.
• Review design packages, tenders, and technical specifications for developments and upgrades.
• Support commissioning activities and validate system readiness for operation.
• Drive continuous improvement and mentor junior technical staff.
• Contribute to governance frameworks for industrial control systems, including cybersecurity.
