Job summary
BEC Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join its experienced automation team. You will design control systems for mineral processing projects, develop PLC network architectures and program PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems.
The role includes testing, FATs and on-site commissioning, with client liaison and troubleshooting during projects. Applicants should have an Electrical Engineering degree with automation focus and at least 3 years in automation/control design
Qualifications
- Recognised Electrical Engineering degree with a major in Automation or Control Systems.
- Minimum 3 years post-graduation in automation/control systems design for mineral processing.
- Experience with a consulting/engineering firm preferred; operator experience considered.
- Experience with PLC, HMI and SCADA programming is essential.
- Experience with Schneider, Rockwell or GE PLC hardware and CITEC SCADA is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design control systems from P&IDs and design documentation.
- Establish PLC network architectures and hardware design.
- Program PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems.
- Conduct software simulations, bench testing and FAT testing.
- Support commissioning, fault finding and diagnostics on site.
- Liaise with clients, equipment vendors and project engineers.
