Job summary
WSP Global Inc. in Australia is seeking an Electrical/Control Systems Engineer to help design and deliver control and instrumentation systems for renewable and conventional power projects.
You will develop PLC, DCS, and SCADA solutions and contribute to multi-disciplinary teams across electrical and power systems. Based in Brisbane or Melbourne with hybrid working options, you’ll participate in site visits, assist with studies and design documentation, and progressively own project deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
- 2–6 years of experience in control systems, automation, instrumentation, or power generation projects.
- Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, or industrial communications systems.
- Interest in renewable energy, battery storage, power generation, or industrial infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to continue developing technically.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and delivery of control and instrumentation systems for renewable and conventional power generation projects.
- Develop PLC, DCS, and SCADA solutions for a range of industrial and energy applications.
- Work with communication systems and protocols including Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet/IP, OPC, and IEC 61850.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across electrical, power systems, and renewable energy projects.
- Assist with engineering studies, technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
- Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Participate in site visits and work directly with clients to help deliver practical solutions.
- Learn from experienced engineers while progressively taking ownership of project deliverables.
