Job summary

Pacific Energy is seeking an Engineer - Control Systems to deliver SCADA and control system design across projects nationwide (Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane or Darwin). You will work with multidisciplinary teams to implement and test solutions for reliable energy systems.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, strong documentation skills, and experience in control systems, instrumentation, OT networking and SCADA/HMI development.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in control systems, instrumentation and SCADA/HMI development.
• Experience with OT networking and safety in design principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review technical documentation, specifications, and functional design materials.
• Support SCADA and control system design, development, optimisation, and change management.
• Deliver engineering work across the full project lifecycle, including control logic, equipment specification, schematics, and software testing.
• Conduct design reviews and produce technical mark-ups for drawings and reports.
• Collaborate with commissioning teams on ITRs, ITPs, FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.
• Provide site-based engineering and operational support when required.
• Contribute to technology, process, and continuous improvement initiatives - identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, Mines Regulations, statutory requirements, and HSEQ/Safety in Design principles.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture aligned with company values.
• Support development of power station control philosophies and alignment with PPA requirements.
• Build expertise in generator control platforms (e.g., ComAp) and support LNG SCADA system development and maintenance.
