Job summary

Certis Security Australia is seeking experienced Control Room Operators for a part-time permanent role based in North Ryde, NSW. You will monitor CCTV, alarm systems and access control platforms, coordinating responses to incidents and maintaining accurate records.

This role requires a current Security Licence (1A and 1E), First Aid with CPR, and the ability to work rotating day and night shifts. The position offers SSIA Level 4 pay and a rotating roster.

Qualifications

• Requires Security Licence Class 1A and 1E.
• Must hold First Aid Certificate with CPR.
• Able to clear Australian Police Check.
• Experience in Control Room or Monitoring Centre preferred.

Responsibilities

• Detect, assess, and respond to security incidents and alarms.
• Coordinate incident response and communicate with on-site personnel.
• Escalate security concerns per site procedures.
• Maintain accurate incident logs and records.

• Manage multiple security systems in a fast-paced environment.
• Support emergency response and business continuity procedures.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and emergency services as needed.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced and professional Control Room Operators to join our team based in North Ryde. Working within a fast-paced control room environment, you will be responsible for monitoring CCTV, alarm systems, and access control platforms while coordinating responses to incidents and maintaining accurate records.

This is a dynamic role that requires strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Location: North Ryde, NSW

Employment Type: Part-Time Permanent (36 hours per week)

Pay Rate: SSIA Level 4

Roster Pattern: Rotating roster including day and night shifts

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties include and are not limited to:

• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and access control platforms
• Detect, assess, and respond to security incidents and alarms

• Maintain accurate incident logs, reports, and operational records
• Monitor site activity and identify unusual or suspicious behaviour

• Ensure compliance with client and company security requirements

About You

• Current Security Licence with Class 1A (Unarmed Guarding) and 1E (Monitoring Centre Operator)
• Current First Aid Certificate (3-year validity) with current CPR Certificate (1-year validity)
• Ability to clear an Australian Police Check
• Previous Control Room or Monitoring Centre experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts
• Strong computer skills and confidence using security systems
• Ability to remain calm and professional when managing incidentsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
