Job summary

Zenith Energy is a leading independent power producer in Australia, seeking a Contracts Specialist to join the Project Services team at the Rivervale Head Office. You will support development, procurement, negotiation and administration of contracts throughout the lifecycle.

This role requires experience in contracts, procurement or commercial work, with strong negotiation and stakeholder management, and the ability to manage risks across major projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in contracts, commercial, procurement or project services.
  • Experience within construction, mining, energy, infrastructure or major projects.
  • Experience managing the full contract lifecycle: tendering, formation, negotiation, administration and close-out.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, procurement processes and commercial principles.
  • Ability to interpret contractual terms and apply sound commercial judgement.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing tender documentation, contracts, purchase orders, claims, variations and contractual correspondence.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to identify commercial and contractual risks.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and high volumes of documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contractual matters per Zenith’s project services and governance requirements.
  • Prepare, issue and manage RFQs, ITTs, tender documents, contracts and purchase orders.
  • Support contract formation, negotiation, administration and close-out.
  • Review progress claims, variations and contractual correspondence.
  • Coordinate formal contractual notices to contractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor TQs and RFIs issued to clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain procurement and contracting documentation, registers and matrices.
  • Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to improvements in contracting practices, templates, processes and governance frameworks.

Contracts Specialist

Zenith Energy is seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to join our Project Services team based at our Rivervale Head Office.

Reporting to the Procurement and Commercial Manager, this role will provide commercial, contractual, and procurement support throughout the full contract lifecycle, contributing to the successful delivery of Zenith’s projects.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong experience in contracts, procurement, or commercial who enjoys working closely with project teams, suppliers, and contractors to deliver commercially sound outcomes.

About the role

As a Contracts Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the development, procurement, negotiation, administration, and closeout of contracts and purchase orders.

You will work closely with project teams, commercial, legal, procurement, suppliers and subcontractors to manage contractual requirements, commercial risk, claims, variations and supplier obligations in line with Zenith’s governance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing contractual matters in accordance with Zenith’s project services and governance requirements
  • Preparing, issuing and managing RFQs, ITTs, tender documentation, contracts and purchase orders
  • Supporting contract formation, negotiation, administration and close-out
  • Reviewing and assessing progress claims, variations and contractual correspondence

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in contracts, commercial, procurement or project services
  • Experience within construction, mining, energy, infrastructure or major projects
  • Experience managing the full contract lifecycle, including tendering, contract formation, negotiation, administration and close-out
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, procurement processes and commercial principles
  • Ability to interpret contractual terms and conditions and apply sound commercial judgement
  • Experience preparing and reviewing tender documentation, contracts, purchase orders, claims, variations and contractual correspondence
  • Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High attention to detail and the ability to identify commercial and contractual risks
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and high volumes of documentation
  • Right to work in Australia and ability to pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical

A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Business, Law, Procurement, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Experience across mining, renewable energy, power generation, electrical infrastructure or remote site construction projects will be viewed favourably.
