Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment in Newcastle NSW is seeking a Contracts Administrator to support multiple projects across Education and Aged Care in the region. You will work with Project Manager and Commercial leadership to ensure delivery and compliance.

The role offers exposure to procurement, subcontractor management, cost reporting, and cashflow forecasting, with a brand-new office and local project pipelines.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in a Contracts Administrator role within the construction industry.
• Proven experience working on Education, Aged Care, or similar building projects.
• Strong understanding of Australian construction contracts and procurement processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors, consultants, and multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Site Teams and Commercial leadership to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Manage all contractual and commercial aspects from procurement through final accounts.
• Prepare, assess and manage subcontractor scopes, tender packages, contract negotiations and award recommendations.
• Administer progress claims, variations, extensions of time and cost reporting in line with budgets.
• Monitor project costs, forecasting and cash flow with monthly reporting.
• Maintain relationships with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers for successful outcomes.
• Support compliance with company systems, quality standards and WHS across projects.
