Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Contracts Administrator in Melbourne to join the CPX team. You will work with Construction, Legal and Procurement to protect commercial interests and ensure contractual compliance on wind energy projects, from proposals to handover.

The role emphasizes reviewing variations, managing EOTs, maintaining registers, supporting dispute resolution, and coordinating with subcontractors, client and on-site teams to keep projects on schedule and within contract terms.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Contract Administration experience in civil and electrical works on large EPC projects.
  • Degree qualified in engineering, law or finance.
  • Solid contractual experience within construction (civil/infrastructure, renewable energy) in a project environment.
  • Experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong health and safety mindset and ability to collaborate across cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with review of monthly payment claims and issue payment certificates.

The Contracts Administrator is a construction role which sits in the Contracts Management department within the broader Customer Project Execution (CPX) team. The CPX team is responsible for constructing wind farms, from producing proposals for developers to hand over to the Service organisation.

Working collaboratively with the Construction, Legal, and Procurement teams, as well as with other relevant stakeholders, including the Client/Principal and Subcontractors, the Contracts Administrator preserves the company's commercial interests while ensuring contractual compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor Subcontractor's Rate of Progress and coordinate with the Construction team the review of variations and delay claims made by Subcontractors
  • Providing ongoing commercial support - ensuring that suppliers, vendors and subcontractors of the project are adhering to the terms and conditions under which they were engaged
    • Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Variation Registers, Delay Notices & Extension of Time (EOT) Claim Registers, Risk Registers
    • Ensuring that the Client and Subcontractors' bonds and insurances remain in compliance with contractual requirements
  • Support in dispute resolution processes as required
  • Review documentation and coordinate with the Construction team on site as to the validity of variations, both upstream and downstream
  • Drafting contractual correspondence to clients and subcontractors in coordination with the Contracts Manager and construction team
  • Drafting and review of EOT notices in coordination with the Construction team
  • Efficient and timely management of contractual issues and issuance of contractual correspondences
  • Assist in monitoring the upstream program and capture all potential delay and prevention issues of the Client/Principal
  • Assist the Construction team with the review of monthly payment claims made by Subcontractors and ensure timely issuance of payment certificates and overall contractual and SOPA compliance
  • Involvement in the negotiation of new upstream and downstream contracts for upcoming projects and providing advice to the Legal and Procurement teams from a contracts management perspective
Qualifications

We are looking for a person with qualifications and experience that align with the below. We are open to receiving applications from candidates who may not meet all criteria but can demonstrate relevant experience.

  • 3+ years of Contract Administration experience in civil and electrical works, with experience working on large EPC projects
    • An understanding of wind energy and power infrastructure
    • Degree qualified in a relevant area (engineering, law, finance)
  • Solid contractual experience within the construction industry (civil/infrastructure, renewable energy, oil and gas - EPC/EPCM desirable) within a project environment
  • Experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor is preferred but not essential
    • Ability to find simplicity in the midst of complexity
    • Primavera or Microsoft Project experience would be beneficial but not mandatory, as would experience with Procore
  • Strong health and safety mindset
  • Able to collaborate across cultures and fostering a supportive team environment
  • Knowledge in Construction/Contract Law
  • Passion for large-scale renewable energy projects
