A State Government organisation in Melbourne is seeking a Payroll Officer for a 6-month contract. The candidate will handle fortnightly payroll processing and maintain compliance within the Victorian Public Service. Proficiency in Chris21 or iChris is mandatory, along with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. This role is ideal for someone experienced in high-volume payroll environments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience using Chris21 or iChris (mandatory).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume payroll with accuracy.
• Experience working in VicGov payroll environments.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsabilités

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including fortnightly pay runs and adjustments.
• Respond to payroll queries and manage the Payroll inbox.
• Calculate and process leave, superannuation, deductions, and WorkCover payments.
• Ensure compliance with the VPS Enterprise Agreement, payroll tax, and reporting obligations.
• Liaise with Finance and external providers for payroll runs, reports, and end-of-month requirements.
