Job summary

Noble Talent Solutions Pty Ltd seeks a senior Commercial & Contracts Manager for mining and EPC projects with Asia-Pacific remit and significant site travel. You will guide commercial and contractual strategy across tendering, formation, delivery and final account.

The role requires 10+ years’ experience in mining project commercial/contract management, strong EPC/EPCM negotiation skills, and proven claims management ability, with readiness for substantial travel across the APAC region.

Commercial & Contracts Manager – Mining & EPC Projects

Location and Remit

Sydney | Asia-Pacific remit | Significant project-site travel

If you have spent your career protecting margin, recovering commercial value and resolving contractual issues across complex mining and EPC projects, this role gives you the authority to do it across an entire regional portfolio.

You will become the senior commercial and contractual adviser to project leaders, engineers and operational teams delivering complex engineered solutions throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

This is broader than administering contracts or reviewing terms. You will influence projects from tender and contract formation through delivery, claims, commissioning and final account—helping the business make stronger commercial decisions while projects are still capable of being influenced.

The opportunity

Working for an established global engineering organisation, you will take ownership of the commercial and contractual position across multiple mining, heavy-engineering and industrial projects.

You will:

• Lead the review, drafting and negotiation of EPC, engineering, supply, service and subcontract agreements.
• Protect the business through disciplined management of claims, variations, extensions of time, contractual notices and disputes.
• Identify contractual risks and recovery opportunities during tendering, project delivery and close-out.
• Work alongside project managers and engineers to improve project margin, cash flow and contractual compliance.
• Establish clear commercial governance, controls and reporting across the project portfolio.
• Support negotiations, mediation, adjudication and other dispute-resolution processes where required.
• Strengthen commercial capability across the business by coaching project teams in contract administration and claims management.

You will have meaningful access to senior decision-makers and the autonomy to shape how contracts and commercial risk are managed across the region.

What you will bring

There are three essential requirements:

• At least 10 years’ commercial or contract-management experience gained on mining projects.
• Strong experience negotiating and administering EPC or EPCM contracts through the full project lifecycle.
• Demonstrable experience managing complex claims, variations, EOTs, contractual notices and disputes.

You may currently be a Senior Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager, Commercial & Contracts Manager, Commercial Lead or senior construction and projects lawyer who has worked closely with project-delivery teams.

A legal qualification and experience with FIDIC, NEC, GCC or heavily amended bespoke contracts would be valuable, but practical mining and EPC project experience will carry the most weight.

Because the portfolio covers projects across the Asia-Pacific region, you must also be comfortable with significant travel to project sites.
