Job summary

Versatile Group is seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator / Contracts Manager to lead the commercial delivery of a landmark construction project in Sydney. You will work with project directors, consultants and subcontractors to optimise commercial outcomes and manage risk across the contract lifecycle.

The role offers senior leadership exposure, procurement oversight, and a pathway to broader commercial leadership within a fast-growing, integrated property and construction group.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Contracts Administrator, Contracts Manager or similar commercial construction professional.
• Demonstrated involvement in major construction projects valued in excess of $100M.
• Strong understanding of upstream and downstream contract management.
• Sound knowledge of commercial management and contract administration principles.
• Experience working under Australian Standard forms of contract.
• Procuring and managing subcontract packages.
• Strong financial literacy and commercial decision-making capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• A proactive approach to solving commercial challenges and driving project outcomes.
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial and contractual delivery of a major project exceeding $200M in value.
• Manage upstream contract obligations, correspondence, reporting and commercial requirements.
• Lead subcontractor procurement, tendering, evaluation and contract award processes.
• Prepare, negotiate and administer subcontractor and supplier agreements.
• Manage variations, claims, extensions of time and contractual correspondence.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and commercial performance.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Work closely with project leadership to drive commercial outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, governance requirements and reporting frameworks.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution strategies.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Contracts Administrator / Contracts Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the commercial and contractual delivery of a major construction project.

You’ll work closely with Project Directors, project teams, consultants and subcontractors to ensure contractual obligations are effectively managed, risks are proactively addressed and commercial outcomes are maximised throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a role for someone who enjoys operating in sophisticated project environments where commercial judgement, stakeholder management and strategic thinking are critical to project success.
