Job summary

Greater Group is seeking an experienced Handyman / Maintenance Technician to join our team on a contract basis in Sydney, NSW 2000. You will provide essential maintenance and repair services across our portfolio of properties and facilities, ensuring safety and client satisfaction.

The role requires multi-trade skills across plumbing, electrical basics, carpentry and painting, with strong problem-solving and independence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Handyman or Maintenance Technician, ideally in commercial
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance plans, technical drawings and equipment manuals
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Current First Aid certification (desirable)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, fixtures and fittings
• Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting and drywall repairs
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair calls, troubleshooting issues and implementing effective solutions
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work completed, including labour hours, materials used and any issues identified
• Coordinate with contractors and specialists when work requires additional expertise beyond your scope
• Ensure all work is completed safely in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations and Greater Group standards
• Maintain a well‑stocked inventory of tools and materials, reporting when supplies need replenishing
• Communicate effectively with property managers, tenants and other stakeholders regarding maintenance activities and timelines
