The Role

As we navigate a major organisational transition, we're strengthening our team to support our future direction. This role offers an opportunity to play an important part in shaping the next phase of our business.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Contract Governance Lead to join our Health Services team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will support the effective management, governance and performance of a complex contract portfolio, working closely with the Contract Governance Manager and broader business.

Working closely with the Contract Governance Manager and broader business, you will provide commercial and contract management expertise across contract negotiations, variations, obligations management, compliance and reporting. You will play an important role in strengthening governance processes, providing visibility of contractual performance and supporting strong, sustainable relationships with the Commonwealth.

Responsibilities include:
  • Support the negotiation of commercial matters, including new contracts and contract variations, ensuring alignment with Bupa's commercial risk profile and strategic direction.
  • Strengthen and maintain the Obligations Management Framework, monitoring and reporting on contractual obligations and performance to support effective compliance.
  • Implement robust contract management processes across the business to optimise contractual performance and support effective relationships with the Commonwealth.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice, reporting and insights on strategic and transactional contract matters, highlighting emerging trends, risks and areas requiring management intervention.
  • Lead the effective management and delivery of a broad portfolio of contractual obligations, including contract status reporting, claims management, compliance attestations and issues management.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance rhythms and stakeholder engagement practices to support appropriate oversight, accountability and timely decision-making.
  • Maintain contractual documentation, governance artefacts and reporting tools, ensuring information is accurate, current and appropriately managed.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the business to identify and resolve contractual issues, manage risk and strengthen contract management capability.
What you'll need to make it possible
  • Significant experience in contract management, contract compliance, procurement or commercial roles supporting complex contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contractual obligations, governance processes, compliance requirements and associated reporting.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret contractual requirements and provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to identify risks, trends and issues and support appropriate commercial solutions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded.

Please note: This is a Security Cleared Position. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
