Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial administration of a circa $12m mixed-use project on the Sunshine Coast.
• Assist with procurement, subcontractor tendering and subcontract package preparation.
• Administer subcontracts, including variations, progress claims and payment recommendations.
• Prepare and maintain head contract claims, variations and supporting documentation.
• Track project costs, forecasts and cost reports with the project team.
• Maintain contract records, correspondence and project documentation.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and the client team on commercial matters.
• Support the Sunshine Coast team on projects across the region as required.

Contract Administrator | Mixed Use | $12m | Sunshine Coast

A Sunshine Coast builder wants a Contract Administrator who actually owns the commercial on the job - claims, variations, trade packages - rather than a sliver of a giant project.

You’ll sit with an independently owned Sunshine Coast commercial builder doing mixed-use and retail work around the $12m mark. The business is on target to turn over $80M+ this year and growing across all major asset classes up to $100M projects.

Day to day that looks like:

• Support the commercial administration of a circa $12m mixed use retail project in Sunshine Coast from commencement in November
• Assist with procurement, subcontractor tendering and the preparation of subcontract packages
• Administer subcontracts, including variations, progress claims and payment recommendations
• Prepare and maintain head contract claims, variations and supporting documentation
• Track project costs, forecasts and cost reports in conjunction with the project team
• Maintain accurate contract records, correspondence and project documentation
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and the client team on commercial matters
• Support the wider Sunshine Coast team on projects across the region as required.

• Experience as a Contract Administrator, Cadet or Graduate on commercial construction projects, at a junior to intermediate level
• Exposure to commercial construction
• A tertiary qualification in construction management, quantity surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Sound understanding of subcontract administration, claims and variations
• Strong attention to detail and organised in managing documentation and deadlines
• Clear communicator who works well with site teams, subcontractors and clients
• Based on, or willing to relocate to, the Sunshine Coast and able to work from the Sunshine Coast office
