Talent Partnership is recruiting on behalf of a leading Australian data centre operator for Contract Administrators in Sydney and Melbourne. You will negotiate and set up contracts with builders, manage variations and close out each site, while collaborating with project, design, finance and legal teams.
The role offers ownership and exposure early on with a clear career path. This client values practical negotiation, accurate drafting and strong Excel capability, and sponsors NV1-level security
Data centres are now one of the biggest building programs in Australia. Every cloud service, AI tool and government system runs out of them, and the country needs a lot more of them, quickly.
I’m recruiting for one of Australia’s leading data centre operators. They own and run secure, sovereign facilities for government and big enterprise, and they’re building new campuses in Sydney and Melbourne. Their commercial team is growing to keep up, and they’re adding Contract Administrators in both cities.
You’d be on the client side. You’d come in at the start of each package, negotiate and set up contracts with builders, subcontractors and suppliers, then manage variations, progress claims and close out through to a finished site. The same business owns and runs these sites for decades, so you see the whole life of a project, not just the build.
The team’s job is to challenge, review and sign off. Most of your time goes on thinking and negotiating, not processing paperwork. You’ll work with the project, design, finance and legal teams, and your view carries real weight.
It’s a small, close commercial team. Each CA works alongside a senior CA on their projects, and the manager backs you on the big calls. People talk a lot, help each other when someone gets busy, and pick up the phone rather than send long emails.
They want people who take ownership, speak up when something doesn’t stack up, and get things closed off. In return you get responsibility early, plenty of access to senior people, and a lot of variety.
The hours are sensible: roughly 8:30 to 5, with some flexibility and no weekends. That’s a big change from 60 hour weeks and Saturdays on site.
With more campuses coming, the team keeps growing and they promote from within. There’s a clear path from CA to Senior CA and on into commercial leadership. Training comes through their own academy, and the data centre experience you build here is valuable right across the industry.
